Photoelectric sensor that uses infrared light to detect the presence or absence of objects, it is based on a diffuse detection system in which emitter and receiver are in the same element. When an object intervenes in the beam emitted by the emitter, the light bounces off the object, causing reflection and changing direction and being sent to the receiver; when it is received with a different intensity to that emitted, it is translated into an electrical signal that is transmitted to the photocell control system indicating the presence of an object. If no object is present, the emitted light beam is lost in space.
Its PNP type output supplies current to the load connected to the photocell. The electrical load is connected between the sensor output and the negative terminal. When the photocell detects an object, its PNP type output closes allowing current to flow through the load and activate a relay or PLC input.
Suitable for industrial applications where it is necessary to detect or count objects in a production line or automation process, determine the exact position of an object, determine the distance between points, etc. They allow fast response and non-contact detection. Also suitable for security systems where object detection requires the activation of alarms or stopping of machinery.
