SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Keep in mind the respect and compliance with current regulations for this type of work. Be sure to disconnect the electrical voltage before performing any operation on the motor to be installed.

Electric motors can be heavy and have sharp edges, be sure to take proper precautions so that no member enbreakments occur during the installation and commissioning process.

Electric motors are considered for professional use and must be installed by qualified personnel for this type of work.

ELECTRICAL AND CONNECTION INSTALLATION

Any electric motor must be installed in compliance with the regulations in force at the place of installation of the same; make sure that the cable section is in line with the engine power and installation site conditions. A section of poor cables can cause serious damage and even fire.

Always use connecting terminals to attach the cables to the motor terminals and tighten the connecting nuts firmly. A loose connection would cause a serious engine breakdown and fire risk.

Always ensure that the terminal box insulation seal is well located in your accommodation to ensure the degree of sealing.

Every electric motor must be protected against short circuits and over-consumption due to overloads that may occur; protection must be carried out by means of thermal relays or motor guards. Ensure the presence and operability of the same in the electrical installation that feeds the motor, as well as its correct regulation. Adjust them according to the engine consumption intensity reflected in the engine's feature sheet.

Note: MCB circuit breaker automatics are suitable protective elements to protect the power line to the motor, but not to protect the motor from overloads. If only MCB circuit breaker protection is provided for in the electrical installation of the motor, overloads in the engine may occur and serious breakdowns in the winding of the motor (burnt motor) may occur; this breakdown is not covered by the engine warranty.

Make sure that the electrical installation of the engine is carried out in accordance with the legislation in force at the installation site.

Verify that the direction of rotation is correct for the application.

Make sure that the electrical characteristics of the motor match those of the electrical installation to which it will be connected. If these do not agree to refrain from connecting it.

Once connected perform an engine consumption check; with an ammeter verify that the load consumption does not exceed that reflected on the engine feature sheet and in the case of three-phase motors that the consumptions are equal for each of the phases.

If the motor is single-phase and is equipped with thermal guard in the terminal box of the motor, connect through this protection element. The use of this protection element does not imply being able to do without the overload protection of the motor in the power circuit.

MECCANICA INSTALLATION

When fixing the motor, be sure to tighten the screws firmly and that all fixing screws are installed. The surface on which the motor must be seated must be flat enough to ensure proper motor fixation; if it is not flat enough, vibrations may occur that could even deteriorate the foot or flange of the engine.

Align the motor with the load rigorously and if you cannot ensure engine alignment with the load, install an elastic coupling between the motor and the housing. Failure to do so may result in deterioration of the motor and load bearings.

Ensure sufficient space around the engine to ensure proper engine cooling; make sure that the air inlet to the motor fan is not obstructed.

Check that no vibrations occur in the load that could affect the engine.
